STUDY IN MALAYSIA

Malaysia's international education sector has grown tremendously in the last decade and the country is fast becoming a centre of educational excellence in South East Asia. Though not at par with other Asian countries such as Hong Kong and Singapore, Malaysia is currently the world's 11th most preferred study abroad destination. Malaysia currently has more than 170,000 international students from more than 135 countries. There are 20 public universities, 37 Polytechnics, 105 Community Colleges and 477 private higher education institutions, of which 53 are private universities and 36 are private university colleges.

In Malaysia, international and local students are able to get foreign degree qualifications from universities in Australia, US, UK, France, Canada, etc. through twinning and 3+0 degrees, as well as foreign university campuses that are already setup in Malaysia at a much lower cost. For instances, Heriot-Watt University, University of Nottingham, Monash University, University of Southampton, Curtin University, University of Reading and Swinburne University of Technology.

Bachelor’s Degree in Malaysia usually takes 3 to 4 years to complete. A four-year degree is usually called an honours degree. A Master’s degree generally takes 1 to 3 years while student will take another 3 to 4 years in obtaining the Doctorate qualification.
